  Chapter One

  Emma Garrett

The thick chains around my ankles rattled every time I moved. The cuffs were snug, but I was glad they were not cutting off my circulation. It was dark and musty. My clothes were in tatters, and I felt like I was hardly dressed at all in the skimpy dress that he made me wear. I hated it. I hated what it represented: that I was practically his slave. I had lost my freedom and control over my own life to this machine. I hated him, and I spent every moment trying to find out how I could escape him. This was my worst nightmare, but I was glad that I wasn't alone in this dark dungeon.

“Emma, what time do you think it is? Do you think it is daytime or nighttime?” Veronica asked me, moving over to me. Her chains rattled as well.

“I think it is still daytime, or at least I hope,” I said to her in return.

“Maybe he won't come for you tonight; he didn't come last night,” she said putting her dainty hand on mine.

“I hope that you are right. But because he didn't come last night makes me feel that he will tonight,” she said.

I pushed back my hair and tied it with a ribbon. It was always getting in the way; that wasn't a problem on Earth, but here in this cell on an unknown planet, I wanted nothing more than to cut it off. I couldn't let anything get in the way of survival—if we did survive.

I looked at the six women sitting on the concrete benches around the cell. They looked exhausted; we all were. Even though we were being fed well and could sleep as much as we wanted, we were emotionally exhausted. We had found ourselves in a horrible situation. But none of us really knew how we got there. The last thing we remembered was being taken from Earth.

It all started when I went to a yoga retreat in the California desert. It was an all-female retreat which I was glad to join in. I wasn't exactly in a trusting place with men because of my cheating boyfriend. I had walked in on him having sex with one of my friends. After that, I wasn’t able to date anymore. It had been a long time since I had been in love or even felt a man’s touch. So I was glad to have the company of women and to indulge in some rest, relaxation, and body and mind exercises. But it had all changed on the very first night.

We went on a midnight hike in the desert. It was a beautiful night with a full moon. It felt good to be one with nature and to let all the baggage leave me. It was what I needed. But none of us were expecting to see the brilliant bright light in the sky. It came closer and closer, and none of us knew what to do except to stand there and stare at it. Then all of a sudden it was close enough to see that it was a flying object; my first thought was that it was some kids playing with some sort of drone with lights on it. But it was very big once the lights dimmed and we could see the object. The door opened, and out stepped something absolutely incredible, what could only be called aliens. They were very tall almost ten feet, and they were blue-skinned. They were male, very physically toned and advanced. The last thing anything anyone of us could remember was that we ran from them. That was it. When we woke up, we were on a large spaceship; we could only assume that we were in space because we got very little answers from the alien men. We were fed and kept prisoner. Then one day the ship began to shake violently. It was obvious to us that we were going to crash. We had all experienced airplane turbulence before, and we knew that this was very close to it. Then everything went dark. When we woke up, we were chained in a dark cell. It was like a dungeon. That was all that we knew. All six women couldn't remember anything else, and I couldn't either. We didn't know how we had become prisoners of the machines.

The machines called themselves cyborgs. They looked to be half-man, half-machine. Cyborg was the perfect name for them, even though I had never seen anything like them in real life. As a medical research doctor, I found it fascinating at first. I wanted to know everything about their anatomy, but it was something that I wished I did not know now. The shiny chrome metal parts of them only covered their body here and there. They were very much like men, as I was to find out personally on the first night.

The first night being locked up was horrendous. A cyborg came to us and introduced himself as K2Q. K2Q seemed to be the leader of wherever we were. We didn't know much. I only knew that K2Q had expressed interest in my bright red hair. That interest would turn to him dragging me from the cell into another room down the hallway, where he took advantage of me. I hated thinking about it. I wasn't going to let him break my spirit. We were going to get out of there somehow. I just needed some time to figure out what was going on. But I had to go numb; it was the only way I could survive his violation of my body. So now, I sat in the cell with the other six women, waiting for him to return, dreading every second of it. But a part of me wanted it to be over with. The anxiety of waiting for the cyborg K2Q was even worse.

“What do you think happened to the others?” Amber asked. She had been one of the women on the yoga retreat as well, but I didn't meet her until we were in this dark cell together. The women that I had met on the retreat weren't with us. The rest were all new acquaintances to me.

  “Maybe they died,” Diana said.

“Don't say that. We survived; maybe they did too,” Monica said.

“Yes, we have to think that they are alive because we need to know that they are out there and possibly could get us out of here,” Jennifer said standing up.

“I would rather be with the blue aliens than these machines. We have to get out of here. We have to figure something else out. We can't just sit here and do nothing,” Sarah said loudly.

“Calm down. It's all right. We are going to get out of here,” Veronica said to her putting her hands on her shoulders to calm her down. But we were all shaken up. I wasn't the only one that the cyborgs had taken advantage of. Sarah had also been used by one of the cyborgs, but it wasn't the leader K2Q, the one that came for me over and over. I knew that eventually all of the women would have their turn. Sarah was right. We needed to get out of there.

“What can we do? We are here. We are in chains,” I said.

“You are right. We won't be able to the pier together. In a bus gets to run a then run. It will be up to you to bring a rescue team to us,” Veronica said standing up and giving a speech.

“Alone? You want one of us to run off alone? We don't even know what's out there. We could be surrounded by water for all we know,” Jennifer said.

“If that is the case, then you will just be brought back here. But if it's not, then run. Find help,” Veronica said.

We all looked at each other confused. Would we really be able to abandon each other when the time came? What if we weren't able to find help? What if there was nothing out there?

  Chapter Two

  Elonu Fiul

I looked up at the two full moons in the sky. One was white, and the other had a slight ye
llow tint to it; where the hell was I? remembered that I was piloting the ship and it started to go down after we took a detour from our usual path in order to evade a black hole. Then chaos took over as our ship crashed on this unknown planet. I was the pilot, and I couldn't help but feel that this was my fault. The ship had broken up in the atmosphere as it arced across the sky of this unknown planet. It spread the crew and our prisoners across a lot of ground, separating us.

Now, I was all alone, having crashed with the front part of the ship, the cockpit buried into the sand around me. It was nighttime; it was dark. I couldn't see more than a couple of yards in front of me even though the two moons were lighting the sand all around me. I hung my head low; this was my fault. I had never lost a ship before. I had to find the captain and the crew, as well as the human females that we had abducted from Earth.

I needed to get to work. I started to dig out the front part of the ship using my hands, scooping out the sand. I spent hours on this knowing that if I could dig out enough of it, I could engineer some sort of beacon from the electrical components of the cockpit.

Hours later, the console of the cockpit exposed itself to me.

“All right, Elonu, hope this works,” I said to myself.

I spent the next hour pulling rubber off of wires and twisting them together. Then I took my blaster gun and used it as an energy source. This was a hard decision to make. With my blaster gun being pulled apart to provide energy, I wouldn't have it available for protection. I had a very long knife in my boot, and various gadgets and gems in my belt, but I only had one blaster gun on me. I opened the blaster gun components, pulled it apart, and hooked it up to the makeshift beacon I had created.

Ding. Ding. It started to beep.

“Yes!” I said, excited that I was able to get a beacon working. This would send out a signal to any Kynon ship on the planet within range. Now all I had to do was wait.

After working most of the night, I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was daylight. My stomach burned, and I was thirsty. There was nothing in this part of the ship with water and food. I would have to leave in search of resources. I scanned the horizon all around me, and suddenly I saw some smoke rising in the distance. I knew it was dangerous, but I couldn't stay in the middle of the desert without food and water; I would go check out the smoke for food and water and come back to the beacon.

I slowly made my way across the sand, being cautious. I came to a large sand dune. I climbed it quietly, as the smoke was on the other side of it. That’s when I heard it: voices.

“We must get back to the base. We’ve already searched this area,” the computer-like voice said.

I peeked over the sand dune. There were two cyborgs standing by a land speeder. Now I knew that this planet was a cyborg planet. Cyborgs were never kind and easy to get along with. But I didn't know which type of cyborgs these were. The smoke I saw was coming from a small fire off to the side where they were cooking a meal. I had a choice: I could continue to make myself unknown and go back to the beacon, or I could see if these cyborgs would be friendly and share their meal. Perhaps I could even find out some information, like the name of the planet and where I was. Maybe there was a village nearby. I knew I couldn't stay alone in the desert for very long, so I decided to risk it.

“Friends, would you consider sharing your meal?” I said slowly standing up on the other side of the sand dune. The cyborgs quickly grabbed their guns and aimed at me.

  “Who are you?”

“My name is Elonu Fiul. I am a Kynon. I come as a friend; my ship crashed.”

“Kill him,” one cyborg said to the other. I heard them pull the charger on the guns they held. I jumped and slid down the dune toward them. I kicked one over and grabbed the others gun. I wasn't a match for machines; the element of surprise was the only chance I had. I grabbed the gun just as it went off, knocking the cyborg onto his back. I aimed it at the other Cyborg and shot. He quickly convulsed as the shot electrified him. Then I felt a blow to my head; the other cyborg had hit me with his metal hand. I stumbled back, still with the gun in my hand. But the cyborg came at me, and I dropped the gun. I swung and hit him on the flesh part of his face. I knew that hitting him in the metal areas of his body would only hurt me and not him. We fought, rolling across the sand until I saw the gun through my peripheral vision my hand reached for it. Boom! I shot at the cyborg, and he flew back, convulsing until he died. That was close. I checked them to make sure they were dead, but I couldn't stay long. I didn't know what these machines were like and they could easily reboot or something. I grabbed both of the guns and put one in the speeder and the other in my holster. I quickly looked through the speeder and found a large jug of water. I chugged it. Then I grabbed the meal cooking on the fire and wrapped it up and threw it in the speeder. I would have to eat it later; I needed to get away from these two.

Then I heard something that startled me come over the radio.

“Scout patrols six and nine, we are moving the human females today to our leader. Be advised,” the transmission said.

“Human females?” I whispered. Those had to be my human females. The cyborgs had them, and I had to get them back.

  Chapter Three

  Emma Garrett

“What is that noise?” Amber said.

We all stopped and froze in place. We heard the sound of the door opening. I tensed up. I didn't want it to be him. I didn't want it to be K2Q.

“There are my beauties,” I heard the familiar voice say. My entire body felt weak. He had come for me.

“Get away from us,” Veronica snarled at him.

“Feisty as usual,” he said with a laugh.

“You can’t touch her. Leave us alone!” Sara shouted. All of the women began to crowd in front of me. They were protecting me from him as he began to unlock the cell.

“Your weak flesh is no match for me. I will take what I want, when I want. You all belong to me. I found you, and you are now my property,” K2Q said as he flung the bar doors open. I could see two cyborgs behind him, guarding the cell. K2Q pushed the women aside one after another; their chains rattled until he was in front of me. He fingered my red hair.

“There you are. Your friends can’t protect you. But not to worry: each of you will get your turn in time,” he said looking at them.

“No! Leave them alone. Take me instead,” I said getting in front of him. He smiled. Half of his face was covered with the chrome shield, like a mask, and the other half looked almost human. His eyes were a light tan color, almost like they were lit from a light inside of him.

“That is very brave of you, my red-haired human. Come; it is time,” he said unlocking my chains and then grabbing my arm. He dragged me out of the cell. The women were all shouting for me. I admired that they cared so much. We had all bonded in the short time together.

A few minutes later, I was in a room with K2Q, alone. It was not the first time I had been in that room. “Just get it over with,” I said sticking my chin out and looking at him with defiant eyes.

“No, it won’t be that quick. I did not come to you last night. I was too busy with the work I have, and now I must make up for it,” he said coming toward me. I held my breath and tensed up. He stood a few inches in front of me and lifted his hand. It was chrome. He used the back of his hand and slid it down my collarbone, and then over one breast. I tightened my lips and closed my eyes. I did not want to look at him. I wanted to go numb and pretend it wasn’t happening.

“I enjoy our time together. I am so glad to have found you. It is such a treat,” he said with that strange voice.

I heard K2Q step away from me. I opened my eyes. He was walking to the corner of the room. He had a chrome metal chest plate covering the upper half of his body from shoulders to waist. Then his legs were covered in chrome plates that fit together like a puzzle but moved and were flexible. He poured a red liquid into two cups.

He drank from one of the cups and began to take off the plate that covered his crotch
area. I wanted to scream out in anguish.

“Take off that dress, Emma,” he said.

  Knock. Knock.

  “Go away!” K2Q shouted.

“I have a message from the superior leader, K8L!” a soldier shouted from the other side of the door.

K2Q stopped moving. This was the first I was hearing of this leader. I thought that K2Q was the leader. Still, I was glad for the interruption.

K2Q moved to the door and opened it. “What is it?” he barked.

“Message from K8L received,” the soldier said and then lifted his arm and pressed a button. A recorded message played. It reminded me of an answering machine.

“K2Q, I have received information that you have captured seven human females. You will bring them to me immediately in the city of C2. You will do this as soon as you receive this message,” the message said. Then it was over.
